At Brilliant Energy, we love our customers as well as our community. We have many passions that supplement our core business of great customer service, namely for the pets in our community. As a company of animal lovers, we focus much of our efforts into contributing to organizations that help these pets. For this reason, we recently began working with Emancipet.
Richard with Brilliant Energy had the opportunity to bring Kelly McCann, the Vice President of Emancipet Houston, to his monthly interview on the Price of Business with Kevin Price to share Emancipet’s story and how the organization is helping improve animal welfare in Texas.
Emancipet is a nonprofit organization on a mission to help solve the problem of animal overpopulation by providing spay and neuter services that are affordable and accessible for all pet owners. The organization is new to Houston, having been here less than a year, but it was founded in Austin in 1999 and has multiple locations throughout Texas. Beginning in just a trailer in a parking lot, Emancipet has already served over 8,000 pets in Houston alone, including 4,000 spay and neuter surgeries. Collectively, its members have performed over 4 million spay and neuter surgeries over the last 17 years. Emancipet’s services also include microchip identification and preventative care.
